Francis Ford Coppola’s classic 1979 film Apocalypse Now was based on Polish-English novelist Joseph Conrad’s 1899 book, about a voyage up the Congo River in the centre of Africa. Coppola switched the location to the Mekong River of Vietnam. The novel, entitled “The Heart of Darkness”, and the tailor shop’s expansion to Tibet, inspired The Heart of Tygers hand-machined embroidery and the twist on Martin Luther King, Jr’s speech
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
