The Bering Strait capsule references the natural border between Russia and Alaska that symbolises the meeting point of East and West. Historically the narrow sea through which ancient Asian peoples travelled to become the first indigenous Americans, the strait embodies the convergence of two worlds—geographically, culturally, and historically.
This inspiration is brought to life through intricately embroidered designs, including yin-yang-inspired bears that represent the merging of polar opposites, a concept at the heart of Maharishi’s philosophy. Additionally, tour-style jackets feature embroidered maps on either side, which unite when fastened, symbolising the meeting of East and West.
