Concealing / Revealing – Asparagus A/W 2020

Asparagus is a South Korean fashion brand that find purpose and beauty by mixing up vintage / contemporary, femininity / masculinity, technical functionality / artistic movement. Although South Korean culture and fashion are currently creating waves globally, Asparagus is still relatively unknown. At this moment Concrete is one of its few retailers, and having the new A/W 2020 collection ready to roll, we feel both excited and privileged.

The brand's new collection is an investigation of layering and juxtaposing of materials and functions. By turning axioms upside down and inside out new compositions are created, such as a caped dress jacket, a layered blazer coat, a t-shirt hoodie, a hidden technical vest coat and an asymmetrically pocketed blazer. The hybrid pieces look fabulous in stationary form, but only truly reveal their depth once its vehicle, the human body, starts to move and express itself. A feast for the eye as well as the touch as rich materials, such as flannel, soft jerseys and thick corduroy are equipped with technical zips and pockets, topped with subtle branding elements. A true game of concealing and revealing.
