Pluralism –
Facetasm Mixing It Up
Never the same, never to play by the rules - Facetasm is a welcome anomaly in the fashion scene and exists as a brand that is both conceptual and wearable, formal and rebellious, catches you off guard the moment you flinch. Facetasm's new gender-free A/W 2020 collection is build on the concept of its title “Pluralism" (A system consisting of different groups that keep their identities while existing with a more dominant group).
Facetasm's collection features an eccentric mix of materials, layers and silhouettes. Designer Hiromichi Ochiai pays tribute to diversity with his coed offering for fall/winter, referencing the multicultural ambience of metropolitan cities such as Paris and London. The collection offers coats and jackets featuring Native American motifs, Chinese-style workwear, delicate quilting and patching, frills and tassels. Not to miss the overoversized wool suit equipped with internal straps to fit every body.
“Even I have different emotions and personalities united in me and they can change during the course of the day. There are countless numbers of perspectives, thoughts and emotions, not just one facet that embodies all.”
– Hiromichi Ochiai regarding his new collection
The collection photos were styled on non-professional models recruited on the streets of Paris and presented in a Rastafarian vegan restaurant, Jah Jah by Le Tricycle (10e Arr. / metro stop Chateau d'Eau). Wish we were there to dig into some of that Pluralism.
