Val Kristopher –
That Denim Guy
Also known as 'that denim guy', Val Kristopher has turned a side project into a full bi-annual cut-and-sew line. Born in the Phillippines, he moved to Manchester as a child and started taking on art / design when his youthful ambitions to become an NBA basketball became less predominant. Constantly evolving as a designer and entrepreneur he is already recognized for his signature raw deconstructed look and adventurous denim.
Currently one of the most exciting innovators in denim, Val Kristopher is active in the intersection of customisation and design. Following his own route of interest, he represents a new generation of DIY British designers which proclaim success on their own terms. With every piece of his collection Val Kristopher takes you through his own personal experiments in deconstructing and reconstructing, of which the possibilities still seem endless. The results are far from polished perfection, but therefor very vocal and determined, both visually exciting as well as clearly pushing towards a circular economy. We agree that reusing, repurposing, and recycling should be conducted more commonly in all aspects of life, especially by those with the right hands.
