Sneaks – DRKSHDW by Rick Owens

While Rick Owens attacks the bi-annual runways with skinny long-haired 6-packed models wearing his mainline's avant-garde nakedness on high heels, his diffusion line DRKSHDW is less about provocation and more about understated cool. Both lines are produced in the same Italian factory, share the same design team and often share the same elements in their goods. As they are presented simultaneously and complimentary to each other, both collections are given the same name.

Rick Owen's s/s 2021 lines are launched under the name Phlegethon, which in Greek mythology was one of the five rivers in the infernal regions of the underworld, along with its more famous counterpart Styx. Described by plato as "a stream of fire, which coils round the earth and flows into the depths of Tartarus". Described in Dante's Inferno as 'a river of blood that boils souls". Both sound pretty hot.
