Yohji Yamamoto's signature avant-garde design aesthetic combines form and movement with traditional Japanese tailoring. Teaming up with Adidas in 2002, the Y-3 collections have created luxury performance, their own new category in fashion. By infusing technical clothing with a fashionable sensibility Adidas Y-3 has rewritten the fashion playbook, and made dressing both up and down a lot more fun.
Adidas Y-3's focus for spring 2021 is protection from the natural elements. The collection, containing women's, men's as well as unisex garments, is divided into three parts, each inspired by Japan's seasons. The first part takes on tsuyu, the rainy season, with functional garments enhanced with Gore-Tex treatments and covered seams. The second approaches haru-ichiban, the first winds of spring and offers windbreakers and wind-repellent materials. The final part of the collection focuses on protection from the sun, kage wo otosu, which means casting of shadows. All parts will find their way into Concrete Store.
Yohji Yamamoto mixes touches of lilac (hope) and blue (legend ink) to its characteristic black and ivory palette. Weather resistant materials are mixed with softer fabrics, detailed with pleats, laces and fasteners to suit your personal situation. Cuts and quality are superb as always. Y-3 keeps delivering.
