Ocean Plastic – Avoid, Intercept and Redesign – Adidas by Parley

Last century's rush to provide cheap plastic everywhere for everyone has turned a scientific breakthrough into a huge mess. Adidas has released a new Mission Kit using Parley Ocean Plastic, made from plastic waste intercepted at the boundaries of land and sea – such as islands, beaches, and coastal areas – to prevent it from polluting our oceans and poisoning ourselves with micro-plastics.

Parley for the Oceans addresses major threats towards our oceans, our planet's most important ecosystem. It believes the power for change lies in the hands of the consumer, given we all have a choice what kind of life we are buying into. Since 2015 Adidas by Parley products are produced with recycled plastic. The Myshelter Parley Jacket is crafted from recycled polyester in a waterproof finish, featuring a stowaway drawstring hood, bonded seams and front pockets. The Terrex Free Hiker Parley Sneaker is crafted from upcycled waste intercepted from coastlines. It features a Primeknit sock-like upper, thick lace-up fastening, EVA stabilising frame, Boost cushioning and a Continental Rubber sole.
