Karhu – Serving The Suede Sneakerheads

We are happy to have a new drop op Karhu to share with our fellow suede sneaker heads. The legendary Finnish running brand keeps to its successful recipe of sticking with what's good and adding a sniff of seasonal freshness. Spring serves up new editions of three of our favorites, the Albatross 82, the Fusion 2.0 and the Legacy 96.

Karhu invented the first air cushion midsole back in the 1970s. It stirred attention and was copied by many prominent shoe companies. One of the most iconic air cushion models was the Albatross, a lightweight runner that was initially launched in 1982 and appealed to both men and women. For this spring Karhu has released a new bright edition in Cherry / Fiesta.

The Fusion 2.0 is a salute to the original Karhu ‘Fusion’ model from 1996 when it was the top running shoe in the collection. To bring back the ‘Fusion’ from the archives, Karhu reworked the model with its original designer and launched it as the Fusion 2.0. New released colors are Walnut / Bright White, Rainy Day / Desert Sage, Bright White / Foggy Dew and Jet Black / Dawn Blue.

First introduced in 1996, the Legacy featured an Air Cushion landing zone, sandwich construction heel cap, and an EVA midsole to make a well-cushioned running shoe. Leaving no wish unfulfilled, the inherently stable design provided a comfortable ride. Today, the Legacy 96 appears in Dawn Blue / Bright White, looking for future adventures.
