Hender Scheme is a Japanese footwear and accessories label founded by Ryo Kashiwazaki. As philosophy student he started shoe making as a part-time job. In 2010 he launched his brand in the Asakusa district in Tokyo, a place known for centuries of leather tanning and boot making traditions. Now, Hender Scheme exhibits two seasons per year, Winter / Spring and Summer / Fall.
Ryo Kashiwazaki is interested in designing beyond gender’s social and cultural expectations and has become well known for his artisanal reproductions of iconic sneakers. Concrete Store's latest Hender Scheme drop features two of these models, the New Balance 991 (MIP 28), and the Air Jordan 4 (MIP 10), both crafted in vegetable-tanned leather and hand-sewn using traditional constructions. Check out our whole range of leather goods by Hender Scheme in-store, online soon.
