Adidas Y-3 | Itogo Rethinks The Lifecycle Of Footwear

Freshly launched at Concrete Store are the very first Adidas Y-3 ITOGO in two variations. Developed in Yohji Yamamoto's brand new Y-3 Atelier, the foreward-looking hot steppers are designed as a provocation to rethink the lifecycle of footwear. Forgoing the use of glue, each component is assembled using a hand-stitched process – resulting in a silhouette that can be fully dismantled if the owner decides to cut the threads.

The shoe's name is derived from a combination of the Japanese words “Ito” which means “Thread” and “Go” meaning “Five”. The latter refers to the mere five components from which the ITOGO is crafted, each being highlighted on the shoe by number: 1. Elastic Straps / 2. Knitted Upper / 3. Boost Midsole / 4. Rubber Cupsole / 5. Thread. The ITOGO's adjustment options include a Lightstrike midsole or plush BOOST cushioning.
